Dorper Sheep
History
This breed was developed in South Africa from 1930 resulting from the interbreeding of races Dorset Horn and Black Head Persian. The Dorper breed was developed to withstand the harshest environments, climates and extreme temperatures in the arid conditions of South Africa, achieved an excellent animal.

The Dorper sheep breed was designed with the goal of a race mainly meat production and adaptable. The Dorper is an excellent sheep meat, with a great capacity for conversion of pasture into meat (in less than four months lambs easily reach 35 kilos)

Features
The males are around 100 kilos and females between 60 and 70. These animals are tough and adaptable to any circumstance and climate, although created primarily to South Africa due to its hardness and not be selective grazing, have adapted seamlessly to Australia or the U.S.. The fertility rate is around 150%, is polyestrous and has developed maternal instinct.

These are the reasons:
"Mortality rate, fertility rate, reproduction and weight gain. The female must keep a reasonable condition while raising her lamb to be ready for the next mating cycle. Be fair, however, with their animals under conditions of drought and poor pasture or if a female has to feed twins or multiple lambs, etc.
